THE VICTROLAS

Originally formed as a guitar and fiddle duo by Jim Hamilton, The Victrolas evolved through multiple line-up changes and hundreds of shows to become the Neo-Traditional Country and Western outfit that they are today.

Jim’s no-nonsense country vocals and rock-solid acoustic guitar are filled out by lush vocal harmonies from guitarist Ed Adams and drummer Jason Gleaton. The Victrolas rhythm section of Jason and veteran bassist David Moody keeps everything rooted in the traditional country music sound of the 50s through 70s, with Ed’s slide work on his Telecaster bridging the worlds between Delta Blues and Bakersfield twang and his Console Steel Guitar work adding in the cry and moan. Their sound is rounded out by Kevin Newell on fiddle and mandolin, adding infectious energy to the upbeat numbers and plenty of emotion to the ballads.

With a set list of covers and originals heavy on Texas Red Dirt Country and Country Classics going back to Hank Williams, The Victrolas bring the feel of Texas Dance Halls, Bakersfield Honky Tonks, and the strains of The Louisiana Hayride heard through AM Radios to every show they play.
