The Ted Scallan Band brings blues to Sounds of Summer from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 2 at the Quietwater Shell on the Boardwalk. "Unlce Ted" launched the upbeat, funky trio in 2007, whose live performances are appropriately described as "awesome," drawing listeners who appreciate great songwriting combined with a get up-get funky-get moving sound. The band is best described as a Power Trio, delivering a blend of vintage rock, blues and funk, with that unmistakable and distinctive New Orleans sound. The trio consists of Ted Scallan, Henry "Dog" Jolley and Nate Smith "Junior."
Spectators are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to the pavilion area. No pets are allowed and glass is prohibited. Concerts are provided and organized by the Santa Rosa Island Authority.
