Wildwood Brings Down Home Rock ’N’ Roll to Bands on the Beach

Wildwood Band

It’s only rock ’n’ roll, but we like it, like it, yes we do! Wildwood keeps rock ’n’ roll alive at Bands on the Beach Tuesday from 7–9 p.m., May 27 at the Gulfside Pavilion on Pensacola Beach. This crowd-pleasing band takes the stage for a fun-filled night, jamming out to good ole’ rock ’n’ roll and other favorites including blues, Beatles covers and reggae.

“To me it’s about the groove and the amount of fun we have. If we are having a great time, then I think the crowd gets into it more,” said drummer Freddy Esposito. “The best compliment we can get is that the people had a good time. That’s what we love to hear.” Band members include Freddy Esposito on vocals and percussion; Michael Wheeler on bass and vocals; Jeff Johnson on guitar, flute, mandolin and vocals; Dennis Gossman on guitar, harmonica and vocals; and Mitchell Armstrong on pedal steel, guitar and vocals.

Bands on the Beach continues Tuesday, June 3 with Touch of Gray. The band takes the stage for an evening of “oldies but goodies” such as “Mustang Sally”, and of course, some groovy Grateful Dead tunes.

Spectators are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to the pavilion area. No pets are allowed and glass is prohibited. Concerts are provided and organized by the Santa Rosa Island Authority.
