Saturday: 11 a.m.-5 p.m.With a stroke of a brush and a pop of a cork, Pensacola Beach will transform into an artist's village with painters, potters, and jewelry makers displaying and crafting all weekend as part of the Pensacola Beach Chamber's second annual Art and Wine Weekend, October 3-4. Forty-one artists and the Pensacola Beach Elementary School art students will be participating. The event which begins at 11 a.m. on Saturday, and noon on Sunday, is hosted at fourteen beach locations.
Free parking is available in the core area. Park and ride the Art and Wine Express trolleys which will be traveling across the island to deliver art patrons and wine enthusiasts to venues at no charge. Pick up a free Art and Wine Weekend map at the Visitors Information Center, participating Beach venues and on board the trolleys. The maps will guide visitors to the art locations and wine venues.
"The Art and Wine Express trolleys will run between the Holiday Inn Express and PegLeg's at the west end through the core area and up to the Via de Luna Shopping Center," Chamber President Jeff Elbert said. "Each trolley will have a Trolley Conductor announcing the upcoming venue, artist or wine tasting making stops at each of the participating businesses."
The Kid's Kiosk at Surf Burger will showcase the talented young Beach artists who work under the direction of art teacher Liz Niven. Wine tastings will allow patrons to enjoy a sample of a variety of wines from around the globe as they indulge in the artists offerings. There is no charge to view the art or sample the wines.
